Not always. Where tiling and the layer beneath are sound, fittings can be renewed without removing the tiling. Whether that is the case is established at the site visit.
Is waterproofing replaced as part of the work?
Where the existing finishes are removed or services are moved, waterproofing is reinstated across the affected area. Where tiling stays in place, the existing layer is left undisturbed.
Can the shower or basin be moved?
Yes, but it changes the scope. Moving drain or supply positions means altering plumbing routes and reinstating waterproofing rather than patching it.
